Diagnostics Services
Laboratory
HEAL can help diagnose illness and difficult medical conditions. Our laboratory is well equipped with cutting-edge technologies that provide reliable results. We have the ability to facilitate blood, urine, fecal, and fluid analysis in-hospital or by utilizing veterinary-specific professional laboratories.
Microscopy
To offer directed and accurate treatment options, HEAL evaluates skin infections, ear infections, and skin masses with a high-powered microscope. We want to be sure that the treatments we prescribe are appropriate AND complete.
Digital Radiology
HEAL offers advanced digital radiography with specialist interpretation. Our state-of-the-art equipment creates high quality images while minimizing radiation exposure of your pet.
Dental Radiology
Seventy percent of a pet’s tooth is hidden under the gum line. At HEAL, no dental procedure is complete without dental radiographs to evaluate for abscessed, broken, unerupted teeth, or to assess jaw bone structure and health.
Ultrasonography
HEAL can help facilitate advanced imaging of heart and abdominal organs via ultrasound evaluation onsite. We utilize professional ultrasonographers to capture appropriate images and measurements for a boarded internal medicine specialist or cardiac specialist to interpret. Your doctor can then compile comprehensive treatment options for your pet’s condition.
Physical Examinations
Most people don’t realize the importance of a comprehensive regular physical examination. An experienced clinician can gather valuable information about a pet’s health by listening to the heart and lungs, checking mucous membrane color and dental health, palpating the abdomen and joints, and evaluating a pet’s gait.
Pets age faster once beyond the age of 8. These senior pets (dogs and cats, included) should be examined every 6 months to detect common age-associated problems early. Studies prove that early management of chronic conditions, such as kidney failure can add years to your pet’s life.
Our veterinarian at HEAL has 12 years of clinical experience with advanced study in acupuncture and pet rehabilitation.
Referral Options
Sometimes conditions arise that require further advanced diagnostics or surgery. HEAL will always advocate for your pet. When we feel that your pet may be best served by visiting a neurologist, cardiologist, orthopedic surgeon, or internist we can facilitate the referral. We have a great working relationship with area specialists located in Mesquite, North Dallas, Central Dallas, Plano, and College Station.
